If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.  —God

It’s interesting to note in this particular translation of Jeremiah 29:13 that the word wholeheartedly is used. Not a smidgen, not a bit, not halfheartedly but WHOLEheartedly is the adjective used.

In looking for God in this transition of my life, I realized wholeheartedly isn’t an adjective I’d use to describe my pursuit of hearing a cosmic divine voice.

If it was, Look for me in the morning before you eat your apple I’d be good. Or, Look for me before you ask your husband for more money I’d be golden! [FYI: I have a superpower of praying in nanoseconds before I ask for big things.]

But an unconditional commitment, unstinting devotion, or unreserved enthusiasm as marked by the definition? Sadly, no. Are you? What does seeking him with your whole heart look like?

If we want to be a people who find God, we must seek Him with every ounce in our being.
