We’ve all misplaced something at some point or another. Our keys. Our shoes. Our minds. But eventually we find them and sigh a sigh of relief.
But there are times when something is lost. No recollection, no path, no hope. In Luke 15 Jesus speaks of a woman who lost a coin and she was relentless in finding it. She believed she would find it and didn’t stop until she did.
No wife ever wants the pain of loosing the most symbolic item that represents fidelity. But this past week in a horrible turn of events, I dropped my wedding somewhere in the routine of life. It was on my hand on Tuesday morning. It was gone by Tuesday afternoon.
My ring. The ring that Matt picked out. The ring with the center stone he haggled for. The ring he walked away from five times before he bought it. It’s gone.
It’s gone but not lost. I believe that. I’ve scoured Starbucks parking lots, restrooms, jewelry boxes, car floors, glove boxes, closets, and purses. I’ve posted signs around my local coffee shop, shopping center, and office building. I’ve called friends, management, and God to see if anyone can help me find my ring.
Friends, I’m so busting out a Luke 15! I’m believing with all faith that my ring is not lost, it’s misplaced. The word that keeps coming back to me is Romans 4:18. Against all hope, Abraham believed and it was granted to him.
Against all hope that someone will turn in my ring, in hope I’m believing it will be found. I don’t usually do this, but I’m asking, begging, pleading for a miracle and I would be so grateful if you prayed that I would find my most prized marital possession.
I actually gasped when I saw the tweet – I am genuinely devasted for you! Praying for your miracle and believing in it!
Have you checked the dirty clothes hamper?
I pray that you reunite with your wedding ring. I can’t imagine what is going on inside. Hopefully someone found it and returns it. Check your car maybe it’s in there.
Several years ago I lost a gold earring (in several inches of snow) that my grandfather had crafted. I lost it just months after his passing. I was on my knees in the snow crying out to God to help me find the earring, after almost an hour of sobbing, praying and searching I found it. God answered my prayer and he will answer yours. Believing with you for your miracle!
I thought I had lost my wedding band once. We had gone tubing in the snow the day I lost it. I thought it was gone forever. Years later, I was rearranging furniture in our bedroom and there was my wedding band, resting in the dent in the carpet next to the wheel on my bed frame.
Praying, B!! Maybe check pockets of jackets, jeans, etc. you wore that day…
To give you hope: My husband and I had been married less than a year. He was working at Vons and came home without his wedding ring and was crushed. We couldn’t find it anywhere. He moved on to another job. About a year later, Vons called and said that someone had found his ring. It had fallen off INSIDE a paper grocery bag and a lady going to use it a year later found the ring!!! She knew it was from Von’s and went back to the store to report it. The manager remembered Mark and him losing his ring gave him a call and we got it back! You will get it back =) I also found a wedding ring wrapped in a bundle of Curly Willow and I turned it in and it made it back to it’s owner. BTW your ring is Stunning! My prayers are with you!
I’m praying with you, Bianca. I’ve heard that guys lose their wedding rings all the time, but this is one of my biggest fears! Last year, I was speaking at an event and ran to the bathroom to settle my nerves. On the way out, I washed my hands and headed back into the ballroom. As I reached for the door, I realized that my ring was gone! I ran back to restroom…freaking out! Without hesitation, I started digging in the trash…gross, but I didn’t care! About midway down, I found my ring. A couple of guys in the restroom started clapping. We had a moment!
I do pray that you’ll find your ring and soon. If you don’t, I’d bet you MY RING that your husband will still love you. The marriage is still official.
Best wishes as you search!

Oh gosh!!! I can’t even imagine what is going on inside your heart and mind right now. Praying for you B. You will find that ring. Tuesday morning must have been really busy for you. If you don’t mind me asking, have you looked in your car perhaps in between the seats?
Praying that it turns up
My 5 year old (at the time) threw my 7 stone wedding band, a 5 stone anniversary band and my husband’s wedding band in a LAKE. Buckets and buckets of money…but that wasn’t the saddest part to me, of course. The anniversary band was a gift from my father to my mother, and they both gave it to me. Yeah…kick in the stomach.
oh in the name of Jesus B! praying in fasting for you ๐ girl I also believe God will show Himself faithful in this so HE can be glorified of how big He really is and nothing is impossible or hidden! im so sorry friend! lets find this ring!
Oh my!! I’m so sorry to hear this! Your ring is gorgeous and I’m sure means so so much to you..praying that you find it or that it’s returned!
Ah! I thought I lost my wedding band once and found it a week later under the dining room table. How it didn’t get sucked up into the vacuum I’ll never know. Keep looking. I bet it’s in your house. You must have taken it off to wash your hands or something. You’ll find it!
A friend lost a very important ring (Air Force ring) and found it in the snow with a metal detector….I can’t imagine your pain, B! Praying for your miracle.
My husband lost his Wedding ring three weeks after we were married. I managed to hang onto mine (which my dad had made) for 12 years before it went missing… Neither ring was ever found ๐ it is heartbreaking! But we’ve been married for over 30 years now, and while I may be on my second wedding ring (which was a surprise and has a heart shaped center stone!) I’ve still got my first husband. He is truly a gem! And so is yours! I hope your ring turns up-it is beautiful!!
Bianca,
Please do not give up hope. My friend misplaced her ring one day at work, and passed out. A few hours a later, a woman who worked on a different floor in her building went into the bathroom on my friends floor, saw the ring sitting next to the sink she washed her hands. She went to every office on her floor and asked if it belonged to anyone. My friend said she almost passed out again, because why not just keep the ring and pawn it? God is good and their are good people in this world.

What I find interesting is that the word ‘ring’ is missing in the third paragraph of your blog post. #interestinghowthebrainworks I hope your ring turns up soon.
Cheer up Pretty Lady… God will help you find your ring.
I hope your insurance agent suggested that you put an insurance rider on your renters policy for your wedding ring to cover the actual cash value on it so that you can buy another one if you don’t find it.
I have two clients that are jewelers who can make you whatever you want for a lot less if you don’t find it. Good Luck B!
NOOOOO!!!! I totally know the feeling.
I have lost my ring before. It showed up weeks later behind the dresser when i prayed, Jesus point me in the right direction.–he did in a still small voice. (Few times in my life that has happened.) Praying and praying that its found then we’ll have a party.
I prayed for you girl!
I am sure it is not lost!I know it in my heart! You’ll find it and you’ll be surprised at God’s faithfulness!
He is going to surprise you as a real gentleman:)He has done it with me billion/zillion times.Don’t loose heart sweetheart!

That’s horrible! :((( Praying you find it!!
I am in the same situation you are in now. I lost my wedding ring about 3 months ago. I haven’t worried or given up hope. I know there is a lesson in this for me-more than not, there is a lesson we can all learn from our trials. I’m staying positive about it and won’t let it get to me. It is a sad situation, but I choose not to bring me down. My God lives in me and I will rest and be joyful in Him. I’m praying for us both to find our ring and to be guided in love and peace by Him.
Just pinned the picture of your ring, thought that might be a good way to “get the word out” too?!
Oh no! I got teary-eyed just reading this… I’m so sorry. Praying for y’all to find it!
Still praying…love you.
Oh B! Praying for you… Many hugs. xo
My old roommate used to say when we lost things: “the Word of God says what is hidden must be exposed!” She prayed it with such faith, we found things all the time. So, in Jesus’ Name we call that ring that is now hidden to be exposed! Believing with you for it’s safe and speedy return ๐
Oh Bianca. This makes me cringe. I prayed for a miracle. Not a “oh duh, there is is, kind of finding it.” Asking God for a bona-fide, no doubt, freaky, miracle. HE IS ABLE!
prayed for you this morning. Hugs
I hope you don’t mind if I give you a tip:
You say that you train quite a lot, perhaps you placed it in your training bag or in your gym closet??
Am fervently praying for you to find it and you will!I have such faith:)
