Have you ever been in an argument with someone over an issue and it’s unclear who is right or wrong? Can we agree that these conversation can last forever?! But instead of asking the question Is it right, what if we began to ask… is it WISE?
Check out this week’s devotions out of Proverbs entitled Wise Up to see how life is so much more than just being right or wrong—it’s about being wise.
As you go out this week, always remember to DO YOU! But be wise in doing you.
Enjoy!
The apostle Paul said in the first epistle to the Corinthians (6:12) everything is permissible for me but not everything is profitable…in other words: I’m allowed to do anything, but not everything is good for me, and I must not become a slave to anything. His context was speaking of sexual impurity/sin but really it’s the question we should pose for every decision and situation. “I can do this thing, but is it going to hurt me/my husband/my kids/my friends/ the Church, or is it going to encourage others and advance the Gospel?” Good stuff!
I love this!! I can definitely get caught up in the right/wrong issue, but that’s not always the point. Wisdom is so much more important. Thank you for sharing this!
I just love you! I saw you speak over a year ago at the woman’s retreat for hope fellowship in Frisco, Texas along with Lisa Bevere! I have followed you ever since. A few months after that retreat I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went back in my mind so many times to those two days and realized God really was preparing me for what was ahead and you two ladies were a great part of that! Thank you for all you do! God bless you and thank you for continuing to bring strength to woman all over the world! Lots of love from Texas!
