Being a professional woman who is passionate about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness is difficult when trying to balance societal pressures and ward off the tick of the biological clock. Pursuing what God has called you to so in your “season of singleness” while attending weddings and baby showers of friends is a conundrum. I know. I’ve been there before.
You’re happy. You’re sad. You’re loved, yet alone all at the same time. A conundrum indeed.
Mentoring and doing life together requires a level of depth not many can weather. To have people pry into your life and ask hard questions causes waves of insecurity to crash on the shores of self doubt and fear. But as the sea faithfully reaches the shore, so are those friends who will crash into your life and daily repeat the process of affirming who you are while challenging the things you do.
So I’m challenging the conventional dating system and playing Yenta for Lindsey. Since it’s Friday, I’ve attached a video blog (vlog). But in light of “hookin’ a sister up,” I’m attaching some things to know about Lindsey, and how YOU can help find her a date.
Lindsey loves meeting people and making connections while living out fully la joie de vivre with friends and family in Nashville, Tennessee. She’s smart, sassy, spicy like the salsa she enjoys eating. Anyone who can hold a child in Guatemala, run a half marathon, travel the nation, annnnnd find time to blog is amazing to me. And let’s not forget the fact that she’s talented and totally available.
Here’s where YOU come in: If you know anyone meets the following criteria, let me know. If you have any words of advice or encouragement, feel free to leave it here. Come what may, pray she know she’s loved by God and in this season for a reason.
- Man who LOVES Jesus (this was my requirement)
- Has a job (this was also my requirement)
- Kind (this is a big one for her)
- Sense of humor and wit (someone to make her laugh til she cries)
- Physically active, but not SuperJock (ya know, he’ll run but follow it up with pizza)
- Strong in character (he can’t be easily pushed over, yet sensitive enough to know when to stop)
- At least 5’11” (so she didn’t ask for height, but I like the number seven so I added a seventh requirement)
Even on a missions trip she looks great! Move over, Mother Theresa.

Love this video, Bianca! Requirement #1 is my fav! I feel so blessed to be married to a man who truly loves Jesus. He makes my day every day and is so worth all the struggles associated with having sorted through the Mr. Wrongs of my past. I also love your requirements for Lindsey! She is awesome and definitely deserves the best! I don't know of anyone in the Nashville area that is that tall–haha, but I will def be praying!

I have been a reader for awhile and really appreciate your heart. I have never commented before but just have to on this one. As someone who has been happily and passionately married for 11 years (we were married very young) I have to say that this list is absolutely right on. Number one was my (very involved) mothers first question to all potential suitors; her list of "Mama's questions" became infamous in our circle. Loving and knowing Jesus is more important in a mate than anything else partly because you know that when your hero messes up you have a Daddy that he is accountable to that will take up your defense in ways that can not be ignored. Keep up the good work … well done!

Shay, My coaching group, that Bianca references above, encouraged me to enlist friends in "my search." So I wrote my friends an email…that felt very uncomfortable, but at the same time very liberating…and I have a feeling it unleashed A LOT of things. I'd encourage you to help others help you. Part of being friends and being in community is helping each other during all seasons. Lindsey's been single for a while and openly asked for help in filter through some guys.
