Every magician has an assistant. Every doctor has a nurse. Every quarterback has a receiver. And well—Matt Olthoff now has a sidekick.

It’s funny how two weird people meet and compliment each other in life. But alas, I’m a sidekick to a weird guy who wakes up before dawn, likes when I stand on his back to make chiropractic adjustments, and has a specific method of loading the dishwasher. Like I said, weird.

I’m excited for him because he’s speaking several times at the Life Serve conference in Columbus, Ohio this week.  As his trusted sidekick, I’m speaking with him in two sessions and couldn’t be more excited to share with him about the power of story and multi-culturalism in the Church.

My boss [aka Daddy Dearest] couldn’t be more proud that I get to represent my home church, inner-city churches, and different colored faces sharing in the common goal of training the next generation of leaders. I’ll be working long nights to stay caught up on regular office and writing stuff, but my daytime duties will include the follow:

  • Bringing the wand to the magician who will bring to life goals that seems impossible
  • Passing the tesascope to the doctor who will hear the hearts of those who are hurting
  • Catching long quarterback passes through ministerial obstacles
  • And buttoning the superhero cape of the man who I believe can help change the world

Love,

The Sidekick
