Double fisting. That’s what I call it.
Two books, one in each hand. It drives people crazy, but it gives me comfort. In one hand I have warmth and comfort and soul food; in the other I have pushing and pulling and revealing.
For a solid week I laid in bed with two women who revealed their sorrows, their aches, their successes and their courage. Each night I would feed my soul through page after page of personal narrative from Shauna and Rebekah… each night staying up way too late for someone who wakes up way too early. But it was worth every yawn and groan as I rolled out of bed.
As I finished Freefall to Fly, I resonated with finding value in each one of my friends and celebrating what uniquely makes them who they are. As Rebekah candidly shared her experiences of searching for meaning, purpose, and calling in the concrete jungle of the Big Apple, Shauna shared warm blueberry crisp and welcomed newcomers into her childhood home and adult memories. I wanted to do likewise.
Inspired to be fearless and hospitable, I gathered friends around my dinner table and asked them to be part of my Bread&Wine club. It’s not like a Carbs-and-Liquor party. Quite the opposite. As Shauna explained it, When you eat, I want you to think of God, of the holiness of hands that feed us, of the provision we are given every time we eat. When you eat bread and drink wine, I want you to think about the body and the blood every time, not just when the bread and wine show up in church, but when they show up anywhere. That’s what I want. To freefall into bread and wine; to dive into the sacrifice of Christ and savor the beauty.
I want to share this experience with you, my online friends. I will be giving away both books as a way for you to get to know my new friends Shauna and Rebekah! All you have to do is enter your name and where you’re from we’ll ship you both the book. I’m telling you, you will LOVE them.

Double-fisting it,
