In the Chemrec slums of Nairobi my heart was stolen by a boy named Freddie. Every face I ran into in the slum was beautiful, but Freddie had this thing. You know, the thing Simon Cowell refers to as the X-Factor. He’s sassy and funny and adorable and has skin like liquid chocolate.

I could seriously eat him.

We hugged, danced, played games, and chased each other while the team built new walls for his school. If you’re thinking I should’ve been hammering nails and hanging walls, you’re right. But when you’re as cute at Freddie, who cares what your suppose to be doing, right?! Riiiiight.

Matt thinks my maternal desires have kicked in. He must be drinking unbottled water.

I blame Anna Peavy for sending me to Africa and falling in love 😉

MaryAnn Hetherington supported Freddie's school renewal project :) Thanks for donating to the trip!

Miss Rebecca Bernier sent her southern love to the children in the slums of Chemrec. We love you, Becca!
