It was nothing I expected. But neither was what happened after. Within minutes Matt was on the phone making arrangements at a new hotel, transferring our luggage, and hailing a taxi cab. An unexpected treat from an unmet expectation.
I expected the chaos my best friend and I would face on our immediate stretch of travel we both committed to prior to the wedding. But I wasn’t expecting to feel like a piece of me was traveling the world when my husband was. I was expecting to face stress, anxiety, and loads of laundry needing to be done. I wasn’t expecting to miss him while he was still in my presence. I wasn’t expecting to wear his cologne simply so I could smell him while he’s away.
