There’s something metaphysical about feeding the body. The power of sustaining and giving life through caloric intake fascinates me beyond any of the Seven Wonders of the Western World. It’s beyond the natural impulses of a beating heart or inhaling lung. It’s a controlled impulse we volitionally partake in.
In my cosmic fascination with the Divine, to prepare a meal is to give Life. From my hands to your mouth, God-given life is shared. To share in consuming and creating life is to view God as the Ultimate Fighting Champion in the Iron Chef Kitchen with a experimentation of Rick Bayless and savoir faire of Julia Childs. Oh yeah!I’m not an amazing chef. Heck, I’m not even a sous chef, but I cook with my soul and use food for my worldview of Life. Delicious, abundant life. Sweet, savory life. Hot, spicy life.
The psalmist said, Taste and see that the Lord is good. Only a lover of food would be able to truly understand the width and the depth of this scripture.
Taste.
Taste the savory goodness of grace, like the crunch of the crisped edges of a tri-tip steak rubbed in garlic and spices.
Taste the explosion of love combined with joy, like basil, heirloom tomato, and mozzarella sprinkled with coarse sea salt.
Taste the chill of undeserved forgiveness like the chill of mint pea soup, simplistic and understated.
Taste the warmth of peace like the warmth of fresh bread ripped by hand. Oh this amazing bread of life, peaceful life.
See in your mind’s eye a bountiful table of delectable goodness.
Like a lover of food and family only knows, preparing for hoards of people leaves leftovers for days. Bountiful is the goodness on the banqueting table.
Each course of life will serve bitter, salty sides. But how wonderful is the bitter olive when paired with the sweet, dry apricot cheese! How flavorful is heat of cayenne on goat cheese! How amazing is our view of God who pairs situations to bring out the most flavors in our character 😉
Can you taste God’s goodness? Can you see His amazingness? Like a seven course meal, our life is served a variety of delicious, abundant life. Sweet, savory life. Hot, spicy life. Are you eating it?
No matter what Matt says, food is a love language. And though he doesn’t believe me, I’m sure Dr. Gary will one day alter his book to include consumption as a shared value. If not, God throw down like Bobby Flay or BAM, pick it up a notch like Emeril. In the words of Paula Deen, I’m just sayin’, y’all!
Bon Appetite!

I was just seeking this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your site. I wonder what’s the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.
