Dear residents of Texas, before we meet I have some things I need to confess:
Guilty confession 1: Ever since JR was on 1980s hit show Dallas, I’ve wanted to live in Texas and drive a tacky, white car.
Guilty confession 2: I like big hair and carry a can of hairspray in my car which totally means I was supposed to be born in Texas.
Guilty confession 3: I told my sister I was going to wear lots of makeup and cowboy boots to Dallas for Catalyst and told me I was tacky.
Guilty confession 4: I might fake a Texan drawl while in Dallas. I always wanted to speak with an accent and say, Oh, bless youwr hart!
Guilty confession 5: If you’re in Dallas area or are attending Catalyst labs, I want to meet you!
That’s right ya’ll [<—- see, I’m practicing], I am hosting a meetup at Lone Star Coffee Bar on Wednesday, May 11th at 8:30am. But this isn’t a prayer meeting and tea party! Nope. I want to take this opportunity to talk about life, ministry, gender roles. and women’s ministry. I know it’s early, but I’ve ordered three pots of French pressed coffee! 🙂
Don’t feel embarrassed or alone or scared about coming if you don’t know anyone. You know me, so we’re fine! Besides, I’m anticipating a small group since it’s so cotton pickin’ early [practicing again]. Come. Laugh. Talk. And pray. See ya’ll later!
Guilty confession 6: I just realized I AM tacky.
B,
You're nuttier than a can of Planters.
Love you! Have a blast!
xoxo,
Cindy A.
I am going to try to get over to your meetup on Wednesday 🙂
I love that I'm not the only one packing the hot rollers 🙂 I told my sis that I was going to channel my inner Jessica Simpson/Eva Longeria/Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader – from the head up, of course. Her response: one big eye roll. If you would like to practice your Southernese – check out this website http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/southerne… 🙂
YAY! Though I didn't schedule a LAB…haha…I'm blessed to even attend…I'd love to meet up!!
I had a sorority formal at South Fork…jealous?!?! ; )
I so wish I could make this, dumb finals.
But your description of the Dallas woman sounds like the ladies in my hometown of Colleyville, Texas. Though the big white cars are modernized to the white Cadillac Escalade. I actually knew a lady whose hair was big, blonde, and who wore orange lipsitck and would use mink blankets on her patio furniture. There is no place like Texas. 🙂
Aww im so sad, I just started my new job so ill be at work at that time :/
-Destiny-
I wish I was in Texas. Any plans to come to Miami over the summer? We have great beaches. 😉
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but technically "Ya'll" should be "Y'all" because "you all" is being abbreviated.
Sorry! Just had to point that out
Next time come to Houston… we can go to Agora coffee… my treat… I would love to meet you
Hey B! i won't be able to make it because i'm leaving to drive to catalyst at 8:30a..from East Texas!!! I wish i could!!!! Have a blast!
