While in Kenya, I realized I knew of global hunger and poverty… but I didn’t know who it affected. Now I have a greater compassion for those who live in poverty and want to do something about it!
Compassion is an organization I believe in. I’m leery of non-profit organizations because of recent pilfering of money and funneling of funds from corporate organizations claiming to provide aid to those in need. However, around a dinner table with missionaries and a peppering of pastors, I was able to meet Dr. Wes Stafford.
Wes in one of the thee most humble, disarming, gentle men I’ve ever met. As he spoke of his days on foreign soil as a missionary’s child, the love he had in his eyes spoke in every language, every tongue, every beating heart. The poverty he witnessed as a child in a third-world country provide fertile ground in the soil of his heart to start a movement to end child poverty.
Years later, Compassion is a world-wide organization equipping children to learn more, do more, and be more. I’m honored to partner with Compassion in equipping children across the world to be change agents in their society. I beg of you to click on the link to learn more about how YOU can change the world… one person at a time.
Love out loud.
- If you sponsor a child, will you share your story?
- If you want to sponsor a child but have questions, ask away!
