Do you remember where you were the first time you experienced an earthquake? Maybe you’ve never had the wondrous experience of having the ground beneath your feet move wildly, but I TOTALLY remember a sunny morning in 1987 when my world was rocked. Literally.
Jasmine and I were asleep on our trundle bed when I was awakened by my mom’s shriek from the kitchen. I jumped out of bed and thought I was dreaming because I couldn’t stand up or walk. Having never experienced an earthquake before, I called out for my mom and dad, two very different people in stressful situations.
Mom: Dear God! Girls, get up, get up!! We’re having an EARTHQUUAAAAKKKKEEE!!!
Dad: Girls, calm down. It’s rock and roll time. No problem, just a rock and roll. Get under a door frame and hang on for the ride!
[I’m definitely my mother’s spawn because I’ve inherited her dramatics. Panic inevitably overtakes me and I faint from fear. During another California earthquake, I shot about of bed so fast I passed out on the tile floor of my bathroom and suffered a concussion. But I digress.]
The end of our summer series is here and I hope and pray that we’ve all either encountered a living shaking alteration or an affirmation that we are living the way God has called us to. As we scour the words of Isaiah chapter six, I’m earnestly praying and begging God that he rock our worlds. I’m believing that we can leave tonight so affirmed, so confirmed, so assured that God reigns in our life and we have no option BUT to serve the holy, holy, holy God Almighty.
Hang on friends, it’s rock and roll time. It’s just a little rock and roll. π
To enjoy the wonderful sounds of Rebecca Boganwright and band from Sandals Church in Riverside and to join us for the study, pop on over to CCM. If you are not from the area, tune in online at 7pm PST. π
If you’re tuning in online, make some noise!
Aw, I can't believe it's over today. It's been an amazing study!! π
Ha, mine was in the OC In 1986. We had just sold our house and moved in with my abuelita for a few months while in transition. My sis and I would take turn sleeping in her bed because it was super high and, we thought, very cool. I woke up to her saying the Padre Nuestro a zillion miles a minute while clinging to a little Jesus statue that was usually perched over her bed. I was just confused. Deeply.
God re-entering my life was not far away from there – Running along the path besides The Ritz overlooking my childhood beach.
Congrats on finishing the series! My study group ended up taking the summer off due to moves, weddings, etc. I'll keep an eye our for when it's up for purchase!

I don't know why I'm so emo right now, but I got teary-eyed reading your comment.
Are you pregnant? JUST KIDDING! I am and lemme tell you, go buy yourself a Costco size package of Kleenex the minute you are! π
Remind me to pinch you really hard the first time we meet.
Wow! Great One B. Love it. As for me, I am the calm one. My husband is the one who freaks at the slightest earth moving experience. LOl. I did have earth shattering realization of God telling me I was right where I needed to be. Been living it ever since.
AWESOME. Hold onto that moment.xoxo
I can already tell that’s gonna be super hlpeful.
I wish that I could go out to CCM and attend the study but I’ve been so blessed just by watching it online and I’ve learned a lot. Thank you for posting the videos, Bianca! You are awesome!
Bianca! I am sad it is over. BUT i feel blessed to have experienced it. God always, always knows what he is doing. I have a love for photography and that brought me closer to him by finding you through your sister. I needed this, he knew it and the summer series came at the perfect time in my life. I truly thank you.
AFAIC that’s the best anwesr so far!
Aw.. it's been such a great study and I'll be tuning in tonight!!! SO excited to see what God is going to do. God bless you!
I hear you girl!! Here in Mexicali you feel at least one earthquake a day (even though they are really soft). Only once I panicked and was probably my first earthquake when I was a little girl. Now I'm the calm type, my mom on the other hand she's like you, cries and everything. I think I balance things out when earthquakes happen π
On the other hand…. I'm here to make some NOOOIIISSEEEE!!! 'Cause its the last day of an incredible summer series!! THANK YOU again!! See you tonight!! π xoxo
Woohoo! Natarsha from Washington, DC checking in! Thank you for your insight over these past 6 weeks.
Hi Bianca!
I saw the last in your Marked by Love series tonight online and I even tuned in early enough to see the band lead praise & worship! π
I thought it was a great ministry event! Continue to be open to God's call as you move on in your God-given ministry.
And always keep in mind Jeremiah 29:11 π
You are a fabulous woman of God and I'm so happy to have found you almost 4 years ago on the web!!! I'm sure you rocked it, rolled it, & put a pretty bow on it while teaching yesterday!!! Totally hate that I wasn't able to make it to all of the series this year, but happy that they exist in playback form!!! sending cyber love your way!!! xo
