Dr. Gary Chapman wrote The Five Love Languages and since reading it, my view on how to give and receive love has changed. Matt had read the book months ago and we’ve discussed our love languages in length. The one he refuses to acknowledge [note: I made it up], is the love language of food.
Matt: B, food is not a love language.
Me: Yes it is!
Matt: You can’t make up love languages.
Me: WHY do you hate me?!?!
I tried explaining to him my deep affinity to making and serving food. Eating with other people is a very intimate act, but making and eating a culinary feast is one of the most satisfying feelings. He looked at me like a cardboard cutout and said, “Food is not a love language.” Eh, he’ll learn 😉
As the sun set over the mountains through the San Ynez valley, Matt and I drove with Jacky and her husband, Jeremiah the Chef. The conversation transitioned to the topic of food and discussing food with Jeremiah the Chef is like speaking a foreign language with someone who knows what you’re saying.
Parle vous food? Oui! Je taime food! And with that, lived vicariously through tales of food, feasts, and fondue with Jeremiah the Chef.
Over hills and around mountians, I dreamed of becoming the Giada DeLaurentis, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, and Julia Childs. As reality creeped in, I realized my dreams of becoming a chef and speaking the love language of food are mere fantasies. But while recounting the amazing women I met at the High Desert Church‘s women’s retreat this weekend, a new dream was dreamt.
Bread of Life and Living Water are merely the basics of what God has have us feast one. His Word is a twelve-course meal with all the trimmings and I had the honor of serving it up like Jeremiah the Chef. To the gracious women of HDC and to all who read the blog, Bon Appetite!

I dont think Ive seen all the angles of this subject the way youve pointed them out. Youre a true star, a rock star man. Youve got so much to say and know so much about the subject that I think you should just teach a class about it
