The page loads slowly because the content is dense and full of information. Scanning over the webpage, there’s anย abrupt stop on a picture which looks familiar, but the name causes me to stop, drop, and roll. Not because I was practicing my firesafety skills but because I stopped what I was doing, dropped my forehead on my desk, and rolled with laughter.

Christians claim to want humility, but when push comes to shove, I’m not sure we mean it. It sounds really good in group prayer or in a silent monologue with the Creator of heaven and earth. You know like, Dear Lord, remove all selfish pride and may humility be my cloak, or something crazy like that.

Yeah, just be careful what you pray for.

A standard email from a conference coordinator formally thanked me while exclaiming he was excited to host such a distinguished group of speakers and teachers. We were instructed to send a bio and picture to him to be added to the website so the guest could learn about the men and women he values as peers. Very sweet.

Another email arrived a week later stating the website had been completed and visited by many of the attendees. With the conference only weeks away, each speaker was encouraged to visit the website and dialogue with confirmed guests. The highlighted URL linked me to a page with black and white photos of speaker’s faces, most of whom were recognizable.

As I scrolled down the page, I saw my picture and a name. In 2.5 seconds I mentally reminded myself that not only does God know every hair on my head like Isaiah tells me, but He also knows my name. My correct name. It’s a good thing because the last name attached to my bio and head-shot was NOT my name. Nope, not even close. I’m pretty sure there’s a Bianca Garcia in the world, buuuuut it’s just not me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I laughed. No, honestly I did. God has a funny way of reminding me I’m nobody. No matter what people tell me or how flattering some may be with words, I know the only One who really matters knows my name. And spells it correctly.

For those who are on this journey with me, no matter how long I blog, write, speak, or teach, remind me a. God loves me, b. He knows my name, and c. no one needs to know my name… they just need to hear the message.

In The Name of Love,
Bianca Garcia
