Daniel said it. Paul said it. Joseph said it. Jesus said it. And today, I repeat it.

But God…

A simple phrase. A phrase to thwart doubt, to stop fear, to control the uncontrollable is found from the beginning of the bible to the end. From Old Testament to New Testament, from yesterday to today, God remains the hero, savior, and friend.

We have sickness… but God.
We have troubles… but God.
We have brokenness… but God.
We are sinners… but God.

When Joseph came face-to-face with his brothers after years of separation and anguish and suffering for what they did to him and made him endure, he eloquently saidYou intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done…

David, in a moment of confusion and fear sangMy flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Jesus, knowing the shady actions and nefarious heart of man, reminded the religious leaders of his time, He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts.

And Paul [my boyfriend and crush] gives the best words he could give to me, Dearest Bianca*, not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

I’m a sinner, but God forgives me.
I’m a weak, but God is strong.
I’m an addict, but God can heal me.
I’m fearful, but God is peace.
I’m controlling, but God is in control.

Never forget the but God. With God on our side, we can do all things through Christ who strengths us. [Phil4:13]

What is the “but God” in your life? What areas has God been faithful or you believe he will be faithful in?

[*The “Dearest Bianca” was added so you know Paul wrote that for me as well as add some dramatic flair. Because really, who doesn’t love flair?!]
