Ralph Waldo Emerson is one of the most profound American writers. His concise thoughts and modality of words woo readers to a place of physical rest while challenging your mental modality. When I heard about the 30-day writing challenge, I wanted to prove to myself I could do it and occasionally challenge willing readers to participate.

The challenge is to take a quote from Ralphy and write a response to the prompt given from Self-Reliance. I’m more of the If-I-have-to-do-it-YOU-have-to-do-it type of girl, so I’m dragging you on this adventure with me because today’s writing exercise is a good one! Join the fun. 🙂

Your genuine action will explain itself, and will explain your other genuine actions. Your conformity explains nothing. The force of character is cumulative. – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance

If ‘the voyage of the best ship is a zigzag line of a hundred tracks,’ then it is more genuine to be present today than to recount yesterdays. How would you describe today using only one sentence? Tell today’s sentence to one other person. Repeat each day.

Ready? Go!
