100 Word Wednesday
When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-
It’s when things go wrong that you must not quit.—Unknown
this reminded me that the U.S is only 42 days away!!
I had this poem on my wall in HS and still have it memorized. Keep your head up. Failure is also part of God’s plan – believe it or not.
thanks for the reminder…every now and then it does seem like it would be easier to quit…that your weariness just wants to take over…
I had never seen this poem. Thank you for sharing. This one hit home because I feel like it represents where I have been and where I am now. I praise God because He has allowed me to see that He is in my life even when I thought He wasn’t. It’s been 10 years since I went through a divorce and my world crumbled but I kept going with my kids. I enrolled in school and many obstacles were placed in my life. I can say that God helped me get past all that and just this past Monday I graduated and I can now say that Faith, Hope, and Love have been essential for me to become a registered nurse. Praise God for His grace and mercy.
Congratulations to you!!!! That’s great!!!
PREACH. It! 🙂
“Never give up. At your lowest moment, God might be preparing you for the greatest thing you’ll ever do.” – Chuck Colson
I heard this in an interview on Focus on the Family.
Thank you for this!
Late reading this but very encouraging.
GUESS WHAT??? I’m speaking at the CCM retreat after all. 🙂 I’m wildly excited!
Yaaaay! i was going to tell you to call in sick but glad you will be there. See you soon!
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
