Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. —Romans 12:9
Paul’s simple words to Roman congregation, swells up in my heart and creates a feeling of consternation.
Do I really love people like I say I do? Or am I lying to the world and being a fool?
It’s easy to be a contender for the role of pretender, but I refuse to take his words lightly so I choose to live rightly.
Yes, choose. Because it’s a choice.
Don’t pretend to love others. It can’t be a rue.
Simply love the brethren. Really do.
Nice lyrics! Jesus was so genuine in His love, I should be too.
Boom…early morning kick in the pants. Love this.
Love the poem.
Don’t pretend, friend!
This is totally something I’ve been mulling over in my head this week. Do I love people enough to put myself in an awkward situation to love them?
It was tough. Some people thought “How do you know? Why do something when you don’t really know what their deal is” and others said “Do something in love is better than doing nothing in fear”.
What we established was that no matter what we needed to be guided by the Holy Spirit and to practice listening for God’s voice so that we can be moved when he says move and we know his voice. When God says move –we move.
Side note: When we love people that we don’t have to think about loving then there isn’t even an issue with whether or not you would put yourself in an awkward situation –you just do. That’s why I’ve been mulling it over in my head.
BOOM! Preach it! Love the picture you used btw! And the poem is awesome! 🙂 Many blessings to you!
So very true B. Going through the book of Romans for my morning devotions. Finished reading what you just wrote about in Romans 8. Love without hypocrisy.
This is good- thank you! I just recently read Romans 12. “Let your love be genuine.” is such an important command because when I love is genuine so many other things follow suit!
