We can say we are grateful, but until we confess and acknowledge, it’s simply an idea, a concept, a notion. Putting words out into our world express our belief in an internal conviction.
What are you thankful for? In 100 words or less, why are you giving thanks?*
I’m thankful for…
The car in my garage, dents and all
The home I live in, but do not own
The husband I love, who drives me crazy
The family I hail from, though moderately dysfunctional
The community I have, both near and far
The money we have, but do not trust in
The job I have, though demanding and rewarding
The spiritual and earthly fathers I have, teaching me what true love is
The blog readers who give me a place to state why I’m thankful
*You may say, I don’t write comments because it makes me feel uncomfortable. Well I try not eat chocolate because it makes me fat. But sometimes I just have to do what we got to do! 😉
I am thankful that God has a longer attention span than I do. I am thankful that I get to see an answer to prayer and pain 19 years later. I am thankful for family and friends who are like family. I am thankful for the Word of God that wrecks me nearly everytime I read it. I am thankful for mashed potatoes made with cream cheese. I am thankful for my dog. I am thankful for my husband and children, who love my dog. I’m thankful for the WWW which always gives me opportunities to reflect on the blessings in my life.
Sour cream in your mashed potatoes?!?!?! What is this heresy? [Ok, spill the recipe. Seriously.]
Don’t forget to add a little garlic, too. Makes them heavenly.
It’s my husband’s secret recipe. All I know (and WANT to know) is that it contains ALL sorts of dairy. 😉 Creamy deliciousness.
Bianca-I’m thankful for you. You are a amazing women. Praying for you and your beautiful family.
I am thankful for God’s hand in creating stronger relationships within my family. Thankful for an opportunity to transfer to a four-year university to pursue something I’m passionate about. I am most thankful for God opening my eyes to see all the things He has shown me this year. I’m thankful for your blog that has challenged me to do the impossible with God. Happy Thanksgiving, B!!!
I’m thankful to Jesus for pursing me every time I ran, my hubby for trusting me enough to stay at home with his boys, knowing I can jack them up. My humble home, that has two working cars in the garage! A family that is selfless in giving and loving me! Good friends who hold me accountable, even though I’m NEVER wrong and don’t need it 😉 and a awesome church & Pastor who lives out the word by the way he lives, loves and serve!

I’m thankful that I get to stay home and raise my kiddos. They drive me crazy and make me want to jump out the window but at the end of the night I remember how hard it was to work and be a mom and I’m very thankful for that. I’m also thankful for a faithful husband who tries hard to provide and even though I don’t have everything I want, I do have everything I need.
I am thankful for a good attitude and staying positive. I have had to fight to focus on the good things in my life lately. I am thankful for the Word of God that I use daily to stay in that place of appreciation.
I am thankful for…
The cross and my sweet Jesus
My children…without them I wouldn’t know what laughter, love and life is…

My family and my friends…they keep me grounded.
My job…though not very exciting now…I have one…I am thankful!
All the possibilities that exist within the Lord! 🙂
Thankful for the fact that I don’t have to go it alone. Thankful that Jesus leads me every step..even when they are really small steps. Thankful for life even though it can be hard. Thankful that I have a family who is willing to support me in my dreams. And thankful that God has put dreams in my heart.
Also..thankful for thanksgiving dinner!
I’m thankful for opportunities that hatch out of broken messes & for my warm, cozy bed, and for cheese, and for startling answers to prayer, and coffee, and the ocean, and oral hygiene.

I am thankful for JESUS CHRIST whose sacrifice gives us HOPE of eternal life.
Amen.
p.s._ I wrote Amen to put a “Thanksgiving prayer” spin on it but apparently after re-reading my post, it’s a bit out of place! lol. O well it’s the thought/100 words that count right?
I am thankful for my God and that he will never forsake me.
I am thankful for…
the life I am allowed to live not just on this earth but the one to come.
Being able to enjoy things that be made extremely happy/joyful.
My family who can drive me crazy, but is amazing.
Chocolate velvet cake (because while it can make me fat, it tastes so good its worth it).
God’s Word that fills me up more than any food (even cake;) ) ever could!:) Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m thankful for my husband who is learning to unconditionally love me and lead me. I’m thankful for the body of believers that I’m a part of. I’m thankful for the 400 women I got to speak in front of last Friday describing what God has done in my life.
I’m thankful for my family and that we are all healthy and safe (military). And I’m thankful I get to see them in sunny SoCal for Christmas as a break from an Iowa winter! I’m thankful for my jobs that help to provide and the people & students I get to interact with on a daily basis.
Calvary love and not having to be a vegetarian especially on Thanksgiving (yes, I’m a Brit celebrating a Yank holiday)
A boy once said to me, “There’s room for all God’s creatures in Heaven……right next to the beans and potatoes!”
I am thankful my mom and sister are spending Thanksgiving with us in Kentucky.
I am thankful for the opportunity God has given us here to better prepare to serve His bride.
I am thankful for my husband who makes life fun.
I am thankful for my job which is less than 15 minutes from our home. My 25 students keep me on my toes and give me no time to be homesick.
I am thankful my husband’s family lives here in Kentucky and have helped us transition to our new life.
I am grateful God blessed me with a generous mom who I will never see the day to thank fully for all of her sacrifices for us.
I am thankful for your blog which encouragesme to give thanks.
I’m thankful for the freedom to dream, a heart that breaks, the strength to accept some of my weaknesses, a Father who chose me and pushes me to be uncomfortable and, mostly, the ability to make a nuisance of myself even when an ocean separates me from my victim.
Happy Thanksgiving Y’all!
