This is a public service announcement.

There’s a site called Speako which contains totally personal information. People, it’s detailed!  Stuff like annual income, address, email, waist size. Ok, ok, not waist size, but almost that bad.

For crying in the mud, they had a 360 degree picture of my house. My HOUSE! It listed work phone numbers, email addresses, and my annual income. [My income was listed at $347,000. I have no clue what Bianca Juarez lives at my address and makes that much money but I’d like to meet her.]

I’m treading off the usual blog topics because this is info you should know about. Delete yourself today. Thank me tomorrow.

    Bianca, this site pulls information from other sites, so just deleting yourself from this won't prevent your info from appearing on other sites. I took myself off this one, but you have to check White Pages, Yellow Pages, Yahoo People, and all the other people finder sites and take yourself off those, too.

    Just so you know! Ps- my roommate and I think you're hilarious 🙂

    wow… if you make that much money… can i borrow a penny? lol…. i knew of this site and yes removed myself and my husband and MY CHILDREN!!

    To remove your Name/Phone/Email Listing(s):

    1. Locate the listing to remove (for name listings, please select the state, city, then exact profile match)
    2. Copy the URL (the URL can be found on the top of your browser and should look something like &ldquo <a href="http://;http://www.spokeo.com/search?q=Smith%20Sample#Sample:1219812367&Prime😉” target=”_blank”>;http://www.spokeo.com/search?q=Smith%20Sample#Sample:1219812367&Prime😉
    3. Go to <a href="http://www.spokeo.com/privacy” target=”_blank”>www.spokeo.com/privacy
    4. Paste the URL
    5. Provide your email address (this acts as a verification process for the confirmation to be sent to your Inbox) and Captcha Code (Image Verification Code)
    6. Check your Inbox for the confirmation email, and click on the link on the bottom to complete the removal process.
    7. The directory listing will become flagged and will be removed within 1 business day.

    Before you delete yourself look it up on Snopes.com. There is speculation that their core business is actually collecting your email address. The blocking process is pretty sketch. Who's to say that the email address that is entered to remove your listing is actually you? They don't ever verify the identity of the person removing the URL. Snope's also says that they were never successful in actually blocking information from the site.
